Biography

Eleina Thomas, Esq. serves as a Senior Associate at Gertsburg Licata Co., LPA and manages matters involving white-collar defense, commercial and consumer contract disputes, theft of trade secrets, government and internal investigations, and breaches of non-compete and non-solicitation covenants. Her legal practice also encompasses business torts, insurance coverage refutations, and intricate commercial disputes across Federal, State, and local jurisdictions. 

In her esteemed tenure as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and Supervisor, Ms. Thomas was instrumental in pioneering the distinguished Crime Strategies Unit within the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office. This unit was initiated with the paramount objective to pinpoint and prosecute the predominant violent criminals in Northeast Ohio. Ms. Thomas’ leadership marshaling multiple task forces and spearheading multi-jurisdictional violent crime probes culminated in notable prosecutions of gang affiliates and criminal factions. Recognized nationally for her acumen in violent crime diminution methodologies, she has both devised and conducted training programs for law enforcement entities across Federal, State, and local levels. Ms. Thomas has actively advocated with both State and Federal legislators to procure essential funding aimed at amplifying violent crime curtailment initiatives. 

In a further testament to her commitment to public safety, Ms. Thomas inaugurated the Cuyahoga County Crime Gun Intelligence Center. This institution symbolizes a cohesive endeavor among Federal, State, and local law enforcement bodies, intent on discerning firearm offenders and recognizing patterns of violent crime. The overarching mission is a collaborative approach to neutralizing gun-related threats and ensuring potential assailants are removed from society. 

Additionally, Ms. Thomas was bestowed the distinction of serving as a Special Assistant United States Attorney, during which she showcased her legal prowess within the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. 

Education

Ms. Thomas achieved her Juris Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, specializing in Criminal Law. She was awarded dual bachelor’s degrees from Pennsylvania State University in both Psychology and Administration of Justice.
