Biography

Ms. Powall has practiced law in Ohio since 1991. She regularly assists families, closely-held business owners, and high-net-worth individuals with succession planning, gifting strategies, and the disposition of business interests.

Ms. Powall is licensed to practice law in Ohio and Michigan. She is a member of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan as well as the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Section of the State Bar of Ohio. Ms. Powall is passionate about making estate planning available and accessible to everyone. 

Acting as an ambassador for the firm, Ms. Powall is an active contributor to the business development at Gertsburg Licata. She builds strong, long-term relationships with domestic and international corporate and individual clients, advisors and contacts around the world.

In addition to growing a successful Cleveland law practice, Ms. Powall is a member and owner of four corporations, giving her first-hand insight into the nuances of strategic business, commercial real estate transaction, franchising and employee issues.  She utilizes her background as a successful business owner to counsel her clients.  She also advises trustees and personal representatives on trust and estate administration matters, including irrevocable trust modifications and trust changes.

She has served as an arbitrator for the Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts, a Guardian Ad Litem for the Domestic Relations Court of Cuyahoga County and has taught real estate law and family law for the American Institution of Paralegal Studies, Inc.

Connie is married and a mother of three. She owns and operates several businesses, including two catering businesses and a restaurant. It should come at no surprise that Connie loves to entertain and cook. She also enjoys interior design and world traveling, most recently visiting Ireland and London.

Education

Ms. Powall earned her J.D. at Cleveland Marshall College of Law and earned a B.A. in Communications with a minor in Psychology at Bowling Green State University.

Ms. Powall is a member of the IR Global professional service network that provides services around the world, National Retail and Restaurant Defense Association (NRRDA), Farnborough Aerospace Consortium (FAC), Ohio Aerospace Industry Association (OAIA, Legal Counsel for Wickliffe Alumni Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan.
