Enjoy Alex’s recent Insider Fix newsletter featuring the latest entrepreneurial, legal, and one random fix to help you. Alex hopes that these three hacks to be so useful that they will multiply and provide you a 10-fold return.

Remote Lifestyles

You can’t swing a cat these days without getting advice about “remote this” or “remote that”, but I’m going to swing that cat once more and point you to a few resources I’ve found exceptionally helpful.  Really well-thought-out and creative ideas here:

  • Here’s a really great article about improving your leadership chops: How To Get (Much) Better At Remote Leadership, by Mike for Nona

Lease Notarizations

A little-known fact about your lease: if it’s longer than three years, it needs to be notarized.  Otherwise, you may have a month-to-month lease.

That’s in Ohio. Other states may have a different rule but most have something similar.

If you’re a commercial landlord, make sure you’re notarizing correctly. If you’re the tenant, you may have an out – but talk to your lawyer before telling your landlord to pound salt.

More about that here, and for a lot more about real estate and the landlord-tenant relationship, check out these articles.

“These are a few of my favorite quotes…”

I believe in regularly priming your mind with the images, thoughts, and messages useful to you.  Our minds operate on short-term memory most of the time so we need to keep the important stuff upfront as much as possible. I didn’t make that up. I learned it from Tony Robbins and Peter Diamandis and Tim Ferriss and a host of other folks much smarter than me.

Some folks use images and visualization. I use those too, but reviewing important and meaningful quotes have been really useful. Here are the ones I look at every morning as part of my 5-minute-morning-journal-routine.

An extra little somethin’ this week:

For folks following the goings-on at our firm, there’s been a lot to talk about. It’s been pretty head-spinning actually. As we’ve grown, we’ve got some new seats to fill; we’re looking for office space to accommodate our expansion; and then there are our clients, who we’re helping with their own expansion and acquisition needs. To put all of our opportunities in one neat place, we’ve created a “Needs and Leads” page just for that purpose. Please check it out and let us know if you have a lead for our need, or vice-versa.
