Hey folks. We’ve got some pretty exciting news to share in the next few days. Our company continues to expand its service offerings and its geographic footprint. Watch this space . . .

In the meantime, I continue to be astounded by all the great feedback we’re getting from you about THE FIX. Please keep sharing them with me and with your friends and colleagues. I’m grateful for and overwhelmed by your support.

Enjoy this edition. – Alex

Who am I?

I believe there is something magical about creating a call-and-response, a question-and-answer process inside your brain.  Whether it’s a journal prompt or a thinking exercise or a conversation starter, something interesting happens when you couch your thinking in terms of a conversation rather than just random thoughts secreting from the electrical impulses created by neurons firing in your head.

There’s nothing original about this idea. Tony Robbins, Tim Ferris, Jack Canfield, John Maxwell, Cal Newport and most every other name in the personal development universe love talking about the power of asking questions.  I drank that KoolAid long ago.

Over the course of several years, I have compiled a running list of introspective questions that I found really useful for personal growth and self-analysis.

Here’s that list.

Enforceability of a personal guaranty

Obtaining financing is one of the biggest challenges facing business startups. Without another source of collateral, a bank might require a personal guaranty before it agrees to approve a loan to your business. While banks, financing companies, or other loan underwriters will always attempt to collect on a personal guaranty, there are circumstances where they are simply unenforceable.

Here’s what you need to know.

Meet Professor G

I recently came across the Prof G Podcast, hosted by author, speaker and university economics professor Scott Galloway.  This guy’s awesome – no-nonsense, brilliant, prescient-yet-super-down-to-earth and funny-as-hell.  Here’s his website.  Here’s my favorite episode/blog of the ones I’ve heard/read so far, and here’s a visual depiction of that episode:
