All That’s Left to Say This Year

By Alex Gertsburg, Esq., Co-Managing Partner

It’s the end of the year.  The weather outside is frightful . . . so, here’s a holiday bonus TwoFer for you. Two Founder’s Fixes in one Fix!

Our Awesome All Hands Meeting This Week
Every Tuesday at 10 a.m. sharp, we gather the troops into our board room for a one hour All Hands Meeting.  It’s a tradition I first learned in my twenties in the army, then brought it over to the in-house corporate legal department I ran in my thirties, and which we’ve been doing most weeks for the better part of the last ten years.

It’s incredibly valuable.

And, the second one . . . My favorite lessons from 2022.
Years ago, I made a decision to be an active lifelong learner.

That decision manifested in a number of specific action steps. There’s a mandatory do-not-pass-go step in my morning checklist called Growth Lesson, so that I can read or learn one new thing every day before I leave the house. I have a ready-to-go list of hyperlinks to Blinkist books and podcasts that are guaranteed to provide at least one good nugget every day. I try to cultivate what Zen practitioners call “Beginner’s Mind” (Google it!  Pretty fascinating) in most interactions and endeavors. I approach these interactions as though I don’t know anything, and my job is to learn from them.  Etc.

Opening The ‘Supplements’ Chapter

By Alex Gertsburg, Esq., Co-Managing Partner

I’ve recently gotten sucked into the “do supplements work” debate. I then went down the road of trying to aggregate the advice from the nutrition and fitness folks to whom I pay the most attention. In doing so, I stumbled on FitnessClone, which already did the work for me. Though there’s a not-so-hidden supplement store there, which I ignore, I’ve found it to be a wealth of information about the beliefs and routines of conventional medical doctors, functional medicine doctors and non-medical professionals alike.
